Biography

I live on the outskirts of a very small village in North Lincolnshire. For many years I worked in the field of mental health. Retiring early gave me the opportunity to write.

I have been writing now for five years and have written two children's fantasy adventure novels: The Adventures of the Children of the Dragon Queen and Dragonworld and the Room of Strange Hangings Volume One. Volume two will be called Rising Star.

I have co-authored two non fiction books: The Secret Teachings of Mary Magdalene and The Secret of The Ages - The Discovery of the Holy Grail. And in e-book form The Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

White Swan to be published in the near future, is adult fiction, a historical themed story full of mystery and intrigue.

My love of writing and reading started much earlier as a child with an enquiring mind.

When I think back to my childhood these words always spring to mind: 'Always ask questions'. And 'Listen, then you begin to hear'. Reading and writing as a child took me into a world that was full of enchanting intrigue, opening magical doorways, giving access to other dimensions!

As the sixties dawned I was very much influenced by the times, people and the philosophy. Love and peace! A philosophy which I strive to follow in my everyday life and in my writing to this very day.

When asked the question 'where do you get your inspiration from?' this can be difficult as there are many areas in my life where I draw inspiration.

With life's many experiences, I draw from these events: happiness, sadness, indignity and deprivation which touch us all at some point in our lives.

When writing my children's stories, especially the humorous tales, I always fall back on the absurdity of human behaviour and draw upon the vast magnetism of personality traits and quirky habits that we all display at some point, most of the time not even realising how amusing, cruel or mean we can be. I love being on the outside looking in, and of course I have a few quirky habits of my own!

I have a keen interest in history, and believe we should all learn from the past to enable us to understand the present.

I am very inspired by pre-history and this urges me to question - always. Whatever your belief, opinion or theory, our roots to story telling have been there from the very beginning of time. I find through access to this legendary knowledge and 'listening' allows the arousal of creativity to be intricately woven from a time of dragons, the old gods and the dawn of faeries and elves to modern day.

I count my blessings daily, living amongst the beauty of nature, surrounded by ancient forests, where the old trees and the long grasses whisper their secrets and the water sings revealing her song of the unknown! The magic of sound is there! If we take time to discover the magical mystery that surrounds us all in the form of nature and the elements, every single creation, full of wonderment and magic is there before our eyes!

Surrounding me daily nature connects me to that deep inner core, that gnosis, that hidden wisdom that within the ALL is a magical story.
